Wasinger Endorses One-Year Ban on Earmarks
Challenges opponents to join him in support

COTTONWOOD FALLS -- Today, Rob Wasinger, Republican candidate for Congress in the first district of Kansas, endorsed a plan supported by the House Republican Conference that would ban all earmarks for a one-year period. The House Republican Conference voted to support the ban today. Wasinger also challenged his opponents to join him in supporting the ban.

"Washington continues to spend away our future, handing trillions of dollars of debt to future generations of Kansans," said Wasinger. "Enough is enough. I am proud to join the House Republican Conference in supporting a one-year ban on all earmarks and challenge my opponents to do the same."

Wasinger is a fourth generation Kansan, born and raised in Hays. Wasinger has served Kansas as a legislative aide to both Gov. Bill Graves, then-State Sen. Jerry Moran, and most recently as chief-of-staff to U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback. Wasinger resides in Cottonwood Falls with his wife, Meghan, and their nine children. The Wasingers are expecting another child in May.
