Wasinger Momentum Builds for 2010
Grassroots organization continues to grow

COTTONWOOD FALLS -- Today, Rob Wasinger announced 20 additions to his Kansans for Wasinger Leadership Team, led by co-chairs Dick Friedeman of Great Bend and Bill Halvorsen of Cottonwood Falls.

"My grassroots team brings so much energy to my campaign for Congress," said Rob Wasinger, a native of Hays who has worked for former Gov. Bill Graves, then-State Senator Jerry Moran, and most recently worked as chief-of-staff to Senator Sam Brownback. "I look forward to working with each of these leaders and their communities and am excited to bring their ideas with me to Congress."

Additions and quotes of support are listed below. Previously released leadership team members and quotes of support are available here.

What They're Saying About Rob:

"As someone who obtained an economics degree from Harvard, and who worked on economics issues for Senator Sam Brownback, Rob Wasinger is extremely well qualified to be the 'jobs candidate' in his race for Congress. This background plus his grassroots philosophy makes him the best candidate to represent the First District of Kansas."
-- Maurice Cummings, retired C.E.O., TECH Inc., Hutchinson

"Here in Dighton we want a representative who will fight for new jobs in western Kansas. Rob made the Kansas economy his top priority during his time with Jerry Moran and Sam Brownback and knows how to bring economic growth to rural communities across the first district. Please join me in supporting Rob Wasinger as our next Congressman from the Big First!"
-- Randy Evans, small business owner, Dighton

"As an immigrant from China, I believe it is important that American leadership understand our relationship with China and the nature of its regime.  Rob Wasinger has a great deal of support among Chinese dissidents, and after meeting him, I can understand why.  He has an unusually good understanding of China and how the United States should deal with China.  I strongly believe Rob is exactly the kind of leader we need in this country to make our dreams come true.  I wholeheartedly support his candidacy for Congress."
-- Dr. John Fan, Hutchinson Clinic, Hutchinson

"Today, more than ever, independent businessmen in the oil and gas industry need to come together to fight the open attacks on our industry by certain politicians and bureaucrats in Washington.  Rob Wasinger, an Ellis county native, understands how critically important our industry is for creating jobs and driving the Kansas economy.  Rob is the man who will lead the fight for us in congress and I urge all of my colleagues to help me in making Rob the next Congressman from the Big First."
-- John O Farmer III, president, John O Famer Inc., Russell

"Here in McPherson we have real concerns with the liberal agenda being advanced by Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat majority in Congress.  Health care reform and its impact on prolife issues, as well as cap and trade and its effect on jobs in our area are both troublesome.  Rob Wasinger is the candidate who will fight for Kansas values.  Please join me in making Rob Wasinger the next great candidate from the 'Big First.'"
-- Ken Geist, electrician, McPherson

"After meeting Rob Wasinger and his staff I was impressed with the conservative principles that they expressed.  The very fact that Mr. Wasinger supports term limits for congressmen speaks volumes about his outlook on serving the government as compared to many politicians who expect the government to serve them.  His straightforward manner in answering questions and talking about his convictions is sincere and honest, qualities that need to again dominate congress.  He has my support."
-- Tom Hymer, mission worker and community volunteer, Hutchinson

"As a farmer and a rancher I know that we need a representative in Washington who knows how to get things done, protect our work, and preserve our way of life.  We work hard to feed not only our families but families across the nation and we need to know that Washington will leave us alone to do our job.  I'm supporting Rob Wasinger with the confidence that he will continue to safeguard our agricultural interests as our next congressman."
-- Jim Kadel, farmer, Beloit

"As a recent graduate of Tabor College, it was important for me to be able to find work and stay here in Kansas.  Rob is committed to the same pro-growth economic policies that have allowed western Kansas to prosper in the past, and he will work hard to ensure that the same opportunities are available for the next generation."
-- Steve Lautt, law student, Marion

"We have a Congress and an Administration that seems to be doing everything it can to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.  They do not seem to realize that an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose this.  We desperately need leaders in Washington who will fight against this with all their might.  I have met Rob Wasinger, and I am convinced he is just such a leader.  Rob is strongly pro-life and his record shows he knows how to fight these battles.  We need Rob Wasinger in Washington as our Congressman."
-- C.J. Lett, retired business owner, Hutchinson

"In an age when many politicians are more concerned with advancing personal power than with the well-being of their constituents, when the principles of our Founders are routinely hijacked by judicial tyranny, and congressional fiscal responsibility is but a distant memory, it is vital that our leaders uphold our Constitution, work for our state, and defend our values. I am confident that Rob Wasinger is a champion for the freedom upon which our country was built. Kansas needs him in Congress."
-- Blair Martin, director, Bands and Music Education, Sterling College, Sterling

"Rob Wasinger is the candidate I trust most to bring jobs to western Kansas so that recent college graduates like me can find work after finishing school. In this time of economic uncertainty, I take great confidence that Rob will be our next congressman. In Ness City, Rob Wasinger is our choice."
-- Tiffany Nichepor, community volunteer, Ness City

"We are so excited for Rob to be our next congressman. As parents of young children, we know that Rob will put our children first as he has done with his own and make Kansas a place where they can grow and prosper."
-- Andrew and Maria Niewald, religious educators, Beloit

"Rob is an example of a public servant.  He is concerned first and foremost with the most vulnerable and will fight for the unborn and their mothers in Congress."
-- Damaris Niewald, pro-life activist, Beloit

"I have gotten to know Rob Wasinger and I believe that he is the person who can and will bring fresh, new leadership to Washington and will put our country back on track. He will not accept the status quo or  just go along to get along. He has solid, Kansas, conservative values and has an understanding of how to get things done.  I strongly endorse Rob Wasinger for Congress."
-- Barbara Nunns, social worker, Hutchinson

"Jerry Moran has worked tirelessly for law enforcement officials here in Kansas and has never asked anything in return.  That is the kind of representative that we need and that is why I am supporting Rob Wasinger to be our next Congressman.  He has served Kansas since he graduated from college and he will continue to fight for us in Congress.  I urge all law enforcement officials across our state to support Rob Wasinger to be our next representative from the big first."
-- Vernon (Sonny) Ralston, chief of police, St. John

"It is clear to me that Rob is a man of integrity.  He is the father of nine children and a loving husband.  We need more pro-life men like Rob serving our country in Washington.  Please join me in supporting Rob to be our next Congressman from the Big First."
-- Fred Renne, community volunteer, Seneca

"With unemployment above 10 percent and at the highest level in 26 years, we need to elect a congressman who works well with others and will focus on fixing our economy.  Rob has the experience and temperament to do just that.  Rob has a reputation of getting things done for Kansas, which is why more than 100 community and business leaders from across the Big 1st District are organizing support for Rob's campaign, including myself."
-- John Reynolds, lawyer, Reynolds Law; county commissioner, Saline

"Rob's understanding of economics will help him bring jobs and prosperity to rural Kansas.  We need a congressman who will do what is right for our district and ensure that future generations will have a place to prosper."
-- Chad Somers, vice president, Benefit Management Inc., Great Bend

"Here in Dodge City we want a representative who will fight for Republican principles in Washington.  Rob fought for conservative causes during his time with Jerry Moran and Sam Brownback and knows how to bring economic growth to rural communities across the first district.  This is why I'm supporting Rob to be our next Congressman from the Big First."
-- Curt Thomas, small business owner, Dodge City
