Wasinger Health Care Chair Featured in U.S. News and World Report
Dr. Mark Fesen of Hutchinson, author and oncologist featured in cancer care article

COTTONWOOD FALLS -- Today, Rob Wasinger, Republican candidate for Congress in the first district of Kansas, congratulated his health care advisory team chairman, Dr. Mark Fesen, author of "Surviving the Cancer System" and oncologist at the Hutchinson Clinic for being featured in U.S. News and World Report in an article titled, "How to Get the Very Best Cancer Care."

"I am proud to see that Dr. Mark Fesen's positive, care-giving solutions to cancer patients are being recognized not only here in Kansas but nationally," said Wasinger. "Dr. Mark Fesen continues to make Kansas proud as a leading health care professional in the field of treating cancer."

Recently, Dr. Mark Fesen headlined a Wasinger for Congress health care forum in McPherson.

"As a physician, patient advocate and health care author, I feel strongly about the need to reform our health care system," said Dr. Fesen. "I would like to go to Washington myself to help fix the system, but my first priority is to serve my patients in Kansas.  Fortunately, there is a candidate for Congress in the First District who knows what needs to be done.  Rob Wasinger understands that the best way to fix our problems is with market- and patient-oriented solutions, not more government bureaucracy.  I have great confidence in Rob, because he has experience helping patients through the bureaucratic maze of Medicare, and this experience has taught him the value of non-bureaucratic solutions.  I am proud to serve our next Congressman as Chairman of his Health Care Advisory Committee."

Wasinger recently announced that Senator John McCain has joined former Senator Fred Thompson in endorsing his bid. Wasinger has served Kansas as a former staffer to then-State Senate Majority Leader Jerry Moran, Governor Bill Graves, and most recently as chief-of-staff to U.S. Senator Sam Brownback.
