The Kansas farmer is the most productive farmer in the world. What we grow and raise here feeds the world. As Kansans, we should be proud of this fact. I know I am, and as your congressman, I will fight daily to ensure a vibrant agriculture industry remains an integral part of our state's economy.

While it's important to look for ways to grow and diversify our agriculture economy with new products like biofuels and new uses for agricultural products, it is also important that we continue to grow wheat, corn, soybeans, and other crops. In addition to grains, our state is blessed with a world-class livestock industry. Nearly one-third of all agricultural products in Kansas are exported.  I will fight for more open markets globally. I'll also be an advocate to let farmers and ranchers run their operations as they see fit without interference from Washington.

I am proud of our agrarian heritage and our farmers and ranchers will have an advocate for them in Washington when I'm in Congress.
