The Kansas farmer is the most productive farmer in the world. What we grow and raise here feeds the world. As Kansans, we should be proud of this fact. I know I am, and as your congressman, I will fight daily to ensure a vibrant agriculture industry remains an integral part of our state's economy.

Our nation is coming to a crossroads on our energy policy. The Obama administration wants to shut down coal plants, reduce domestic production of oil and gas, and refuses to move aggressively on new nuclear plants. Unfortunately it seems the answer to everything is no.

There is a growing alarm at the rapid growth of government in America. People across the country are becoming deeply apprehensive about the burgeoning federal budget, an exploding federal debt, government's intrusive-and seemingly arbitrary-regulation of business, and the expanding reach of federal controls into every detail of our private and community life. Gun Rights and the Second Amendment |

Protecting the Rights of the Unborn |
|
As the father of ten children, I am reminded every day of the value of human life. As a member of Congress, I would sponsor and vote for legislation that seeks to protect children and women from the violence of abortion.

My dad was a truck driver, and I still remember riding in the cab as he ran a dairy route stretching from Hays to Hillsboro to Hutchinson and back. Today I recognize that the regional competition for federal transportation dollars is fierce, and as your congressman I will fight hard for our districts' share of federal support.
